In the past month YouTube has continued to shut down frequented cannabis channels with little or no warning at all. Most of these channels instruct or share ideas related to growing and discuss the trials and tribulations in doing so. These channels continue to be shut down without an explanation for the sudden crack down. All YouTube is saying at this time is the message that is displayed when searching for these particular channels: The channel’s content had been flagged for review and was found to violate YouTube’s guidelines.
Two years ago, Facebook famously shut down many cannabis-related accounts, but YouTube has always been much friendlier and more tolerant of cannabis material. This new regulatory action has taken most YouTubers by surprise because there was no public warning of this prior to these shutdowns.
